Odisi - Abhinaya

Khushi and Medha Mohapatra of Noopur Dance Academy will present Odissi - Abhinaya
Their presentation is choreographed by Guru Jayashree Mohapatra, who has been teaching Odissi in New England for more than a decade. Mrs. Mohapatra is the recipient of President’s award, along with other awards and recognitions.
In the performance, the dancers will depict two stories. One is "Gaja Udhaarana" (rescue of elephant) and "Draupadi Vastra haran", and how Lord Krishna saved the devotees, who surrendes themselves to the Lord.

Kunal Sen
Kunal Sen grew up in Calcutta. In his formative years, he was surrounded by art workers, including his filmmaker father and his actor mother. However, his primary interest drifted toward Science and Technology. After studying Physics and then Computer Science, he went to Chicago to do his doctoral work and obtained a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence. He also studied drawing and painting at the Art Institute of Chicago.
In his professional life, he worked as a scientist, a teacher, a textbook author, and for the last quarter of a century, he has been involved with Encyclopædia Britannica. Currently, he is the Global Chief Information Officer for two historical and iconic publishers -- Encyclopedia Britannica and Merriam-Webster, with a combined lifespan of 450 years.
During the last decade, Kunal has also turned his passionate hobby into a second profession. He creates visual art from his studio in Chicago. He combines his skills in painting and engineering to create art that includes elements of painting, sculpture, and kinetic objects using active electronics. He exhibits regularly around the United States. Kunal recently authored his first non-technical book about his experience of growing up in the company of his parents.
Kunal lives in Chicago with his wife Nisha, but remains a frequent visitor to Calcutta.
